What is a PDO thread lift?

A PDO thread lift is a cosmetic procedure that uses Polydioxanone (PDO) threads to tighten, lift and restructure the face. PDO threads have been used for decades. Medical practitioners used these threads as sutures during surgery. That is because PDO threads can be  absorbed by your body over time. It is also called a non-surgical facelift, so you don’t have
to go under the knife to lift and tighten your skin.
It is a fast growing cosmetic technology all over the world. We have been performing these procedures for many years at The Manse

How does a PDO thread lift work?

PDO threads are anchored and inserted by our trained and qualified cosmetic injectors into the sub-dermal skin layers using tiny needles, instantly lifting, tightening, pulling back and resuspending areas that are sagging. After being placed, they will be absorbed by the deep beneath the dermal layers of your skin. This gives the skin a lifted, rejuvenated and boosted
appearance.

What makes someone a good candidate for a PDO thread lift?

The ideal candidates for a PDO thread lift are at a stable and healthy weight and are concerned with mild to moderate skin sagging and wrinkles around the jowls.
The age of those having the procedure typically ranges from early 30’s to mid 50’s. You may not be the best candidate for a PDO thread lift if you have thin or excessively sagging skin around your jowls.
However, there are other treatments available in our clinic can address your concerns.
You are welcome to make a booking with one of our qualified cosmetic injectors to have a face-to face consultation to
discuss the options.

Are there different PDO options?

There are two different types that you can consider to use in your treatment.

Mono Threads

One is called mono threads and another type is called screw threads. PDO mono threads are smooth, singular threads which are inserted into the skin in a mesh-like pattern to provide a type of scaffolding for the skin. As they gradually dissolve, they have the potential to induce
collagen production, re-define facial contour and tighten sagging jaw skin.
The procedure with mono threads does not involve a dramatic lift but rather a gradual skin tightening effect and cellular renewal, thanks to collagen stimulation.

Screw Threads

Unlike mono threads, PDO screw threads have a spiral structure that allows for a more visible, immediate skin lift. As with the mono threads, screw threads also stimulate collagen production, offering a twofold benefit of immediate skin tightening and long-term skin rejuvenation. PDO screw threads are typically used in the areas where we need to add volume.

Can a PDO thread lift get rid of my jowls?

A PDO thread lift works extremely well for firming and lifting the skin the jowl area, which in turn enhances the definition of the jawline. Apart from the direct lifting effect, a POD thread lift also stimulates collagen production in the treated area. This helps the skin to become thicker and firmer.
It is an outstanding treatment for patients who have mild to moderate sagging the jowl area, or for those looking to prevent further sagging.

How long does a PDO threads lift take?

The PDO thread lift procedure takes between 30-60 minutes. However, when you include the time it takes for preparation and observation after the procedure, you should allow at least 2 hours.

Is a PDO thread lift painful?

Throughout the entire PDO thread treatment process, our cosmetic injectors will apply a numbing cream to the area where the thread will be placed to ensure you do not experience any significant discomfort, keeping your comfort in mind.

Are there any side effects associated with a PDO thread lift?
