Thigh Rejuvenation
As the thighs age, the following main changes will occur:
- Pigmentation / sun damage
- Aging of Skin
- Lumps and Bumps Appear
- Fat may become a problem
- Stretch marks and loose skin
- Cellulite
So the thighs first need to be assessed to work out which changes are most important to treat.
Pigmentation / sun damage
As we age, especially those with lighter skin tones, we get more sun damage on our thighs. We get more freckles, solar lentigos and background actinic damage.
These problems are best treated with laser / IPL to improve mainly the colour, but also the texture.
Prevention of these problems is important, with sun avoidance and sunscreen. This can be challenging in the Australian climate
Thigh skin aging
Thigh skin goes through the normal process of skin aging, where the skin thins and becomes less elastic. The texture becomes less smooth, with more fine lines and wrinkles. These issues may be treated with skin boosters, PRP or with fractional laser.
Lumps and bumps on the thighs
As we age, more lumps and bumps occur on the thighs. We become less smooth. Seborrhoeic keratoses (old age/senile warts) become common. These are easily treated with single spot erbium laser.
