I had full field and fractionated resurfacing combined at The Manse in Sydney. I had it in the Paddington clinic. I also had fractionated ablative laser to my neck chest and back on the same day.
You can read here why I wanted Erbium laser resurfacing and a combination of fractionated and full field. I wanted something effective, safe, not too painful and with around 7 days downtime
My 7-Day Resurfacing Diary

Day 0 – Treatment Day
-
Procedure took about 60–90 minutes (numbing cream first, then a dental block then laser)
-
Slight burning smell during treatment—normal!
-
Skin felt hot and tight afterward and was bleeding. They put pawpaw ointment on my skin immediately after.
-
Redness and bleeding were intense; I looked like a fresh sunburn and had blood running down my upper lip and nose🍅
-
I was given strict aftercare instructions: vinegar soaks, paw paw or vaseline ointment, no touching
- A follower commented on my social media post, “you look like you’ve been grated” and this was true.
- Slept on a towel and the towel had a fair bit of blood on it the next morning. My sleep was very uncomfortable
TREATMENT 1. FULL FIELD ABLATIVE LASER TO FACE

TREATMENT 2. FRACTIONATED ABLATIVE LASER TO FACE

TREATMENT 3. FRACTIONATED ABLATIVE LASER TO NECK, CHEST AND BACK

EXOSOMES TREATMENT

Day 1 – Red & Swollen
-
Still quite red with a lot of blood dots, uncomfortable, but not painful
-
Swelling mostly around my mouth, cheeks and eyes
-
Skin felt very tight and a bit itchy
-
Vinegar soaks were soothing
-
Staying indoors, avoiding mirrors unless absolutely necessary 😂

Day 2 – Oozing & Crusting (Not Cute, But Normal)
-
Oozing continued
-
Crusting starting to form, skin feels fragile
-
Still very red on face. It’s uncomfortable, but manageable.

Day 3 – Starting to Dry Out
-
Oozing stopped
-
Crusts and dots are darkening and skin is drying
-
Fractional areas looking pink and healing quickly
-
Full-field areas still in the rough patch
-
The “will this ever end?” day 😅

Day 4 – Peeling Begins
-
Skin started peeling in large sheets (like after a sunburn)
-
Underneath: pink, fresh baby skin!
-
No more pain, just tightness and flakiness
-
Still using occlusive ointment to support barrier healing. Getting very sick of this ointment

Day 5 – The Turning Point
-
Peeling mostly done
-
Still tender and pink but improving quickly
-
I can finally see results: smoother texture, reduced lines already
-
Felt a bit more normal when seeing people outside
- Don’t need as much ointment as previously.

Day 6 – Pink But Presentable
-
Skin is pink (especially around the mouth), but even-toned and glowing
-
Still have peeling areas around mouth and near ears
-
Started using a rich, nourishing cream (Mr Exosome) instead of the ointment
-
My barista commented that I look much better

Day 7 – The Glow Begins
-
Pinkness fading every hour now, and using lots of Mr Exosome moisturiser
-
Skin is still sensitive but definitely improved
-
Skin is smoother, tighter, and looks incredibly refreshed
-
No makeup yet, but I feel very close to normal

🔍 So… Was It Worth It?
Absolutely. The downtime is real, but so are the results.
-
Texture: dramatically improved
-
Pigmentation: brighter, more even
-
Wrinkles: noticeably softened
-
Overall glow: ✨✨✨
This isn’t a treatment for a quick fix—it’s for those ready to commit to a week of downtime for serious rejuvenation.
💡 Tips for Anyone Considering It
-
Follow aftercare to the letter
-
Plan to be looking not yourself fully for 7 days
-
Don’t pick, rub, or peel early (this was the hardest part)
-
Stay out of the sun
-
Invest in soothing skincare for after healing, like Mr Exosome
