Why We Only Allow the Patient into the Treatment Room?

Why do we only allow the patient into the treatment room?

This policy comes from more than 20 years of treating cosmetic patients.

We’ve seen partners, parents, friends and family members influence cosmetic decisions — answering for patients, telling them what they should have treated, criticising their appearance and, occasionally, behaviour that raises concerns about coercive control.

We want to hear directly from the patient. It’s their face, their body and their medical decision.

There’s also a very practical reason: this is a medical treatment room, not a social space.

The practitioner needs to focus completely on the person they are assessing and treating. A companion can become part of the consultation, ask questions about themselves, become distressed or even feel faint during a procedure. Suddenly the practitioner is responsible for managing two people instead of focusing on one.

We want the treatment room calm, private and focused on the patient and the procedure being performed.

That’s why, at The Manse, only the patient comes into the treatment room.

Your face. Your body. Your decision. Our complete attention.
