Why are my Lips Lumpy After Fillers?

Normal Lumpiness after Filler

I the majority of cases, lumpiness after filler is completely normal.

There can be a few reasons why we experience lumpiness post filler, but rest assured in most cases it is totally normal and is a short term problem that will usually resolve within 2-4 weeks!

Primarily it can be lumpiness from filler, the product takes time to integrate with the natural lip.

If it is really bothering you, you can give a light massage in the shower! The warmth of the shower will make the little lumps more  malleable. Don’t forget that your lips are also swollen so these little lumps and bumps can feel much bigger.

Bruising can also cause some short term lumpiness, especially if there were multiple puctures with a needle for the treatment.  These will usually subside within To help reduce any bruising its important to ice your lips a few times a day within the first 72 hours.

White lumps- lips (Fordyce spots)

Fordyce Spots
Fordyce Spots

Fordyce spots are enlarged or visible oil glands that are present on most people and commonly found on or around the lips. Sometimes these little spots can become more pronounced post lip filler as they expand and ‘pop’ out more. Filler doesn’t create these spots, it can just make them more noticeable.

As the filler swelling and filler fades they generally return back to their normal size.
