Post-Treatment Instructions
Following Your Treatment
It is normal to experience mild redness, swelling, tenderness, pinpoint bleeding, or bruising at the injection sites. These effects are usually temporary and resolve within a few days.
The effects of treatment are not immediate. Early changes may begin to appear within several days, with the full effect generally developing over 4 weeks for face, and 8 weeks for slimming of masseters and body muslces.
For the First Few Hours
- Remain upright where practical.
- Avoid lying flat.
- Avoid rubbing, massaging, or applying pressure to the treated areas.
- Avoid facials or other treatments that place pressure on the treated areas.
For the First 24 Hours
- Avoid strenuous exercise.
- Avoid excessive heat exposure, including saunas, steam rooms, hot yoga, and very hot showers.
- Avoid alcohol where possible, as this may increase redness and bruising.
- Avoid facial massage and beauty treatments in the treated areas.
- Avoid wearing tight headwear that may place pressure on treated areas where applicable.
What to Expect
- Minor redness, swelling, tenderness, or bruising may occur at injection sites.
- Treatment effects develop gradually and may continue to change over the first 2–4 weeks.
- It is common for one side of the face to respond slightly differently during the settling period.
- Treatment outcomes should not be assessed until the treatment has reached its full effect, which may take up to 2–4 weeks.
Follow-Up Appointments
Where a follow-up appointment has been recommended:
- Facial treatments are generally reviewed at 4 weeks.
- Masseter slimming treatments are generally reviewed at 8 weeks.
- Body treatments are generally reviewed at 8 weeks.
Treatment outcomes including symmetry should not be assessed before the recommended review period has elapsed.

Contact the Clinic If You Experience
- Significant swelling or worsening redness.
- Increasing pain.
- Signs of infection such as heat, redness, swelling, or discharge.
- Drooping of the eyelid or eyebrow.
- Difficulty smiling or changes in facial movement that concern you.
- Any symptom that causes concern or feels unusual.
