What is a “liquid face lift”?
The term “liquid facelift” refers to the synergistic use of dermal fillers and anti-wrinkle injections to reduce facial lines, restore lost facial volume and create facial contour and shape. Appropriately placed dermal fillers can lift through augmenting facial support structures whilst anti-wrinkle injections can be used to lift the brows, mouth and neck.
How long does it last?
This is dependent on many variables and therefore differs from person to person. On average however, patients can expect their dermal fillers to last between 8-12 months and antiwtinkle to last between 3-4 months. Of course it is always possible to “top-up” if and when required.
How much filler will I need?
Again this will vary between person to person. Variables such as skin laxity and pre-existing volume loss will help determine the appropriate treatment plan individualised to your needs. Here at The Manse we offer a filler package which is the most economical way to start you on your journey. This package is 4 mls and cost starts at $2100. See our pricing page for current prices
Will it hurt?
More often patients tell me it is uncomfortable rather than outright painful. Here at the Manse we have a variety of pain management techniques that can significantly mitigate your discomfort. These include regional nerve blocks, NO2 (laughing Gas), numbing cream and ice if required. In general, however, the treatments are very well tolerated and cause minimal discomfort.
When will I see the the results?
You will see the results from your filler almost instantly. There is a time of around 4 weeks in which the fillers undergo “tissue integration” whereby they blend into your tissue and settle. Anti-wrinkle treatment results tend to start around 4 days after the procedure and peak at approximately 1 month. Please see some before and after liquid facelift results.
What is the downtime with this type of procedure?
There is virtually no downtime with this type of procedure. Patients often return to their routine daily activities immediately after. Of course there is always a risk of bruising and swelling so it would be prudent to have an empty social calendar for a few days following this type of procedure.
What are the risks?
Most common risks with this type of procedure are bruising and swelling. There are a number of rare but significant risks that your doctor will discuss in depth with you prior to progressing with the procedure. These more significant risks include but are not limited to allergic reaction, infection and intravascular injection resulting in impaired blood circulation. Although these risks are extremely rare, they are good reasons to seek out a highly skilled and qualified doctor to perform your injectable treatments.
