Swelling After Antiwrinkle Injections

NB the red dots and small areas of swelling on the skin of the forehead, immediately after antiwrinkle injections

Swelling is common immediately after antiwrinkle injections.

It can be due to:

  • The fluid in the antiwrinkle injection , this will improve within 45 minutes as it is absorbed
  • Swelling around the injection site, due to the needle injecting the skin, this usually improves very quickly
  • A bruise. In this case the area of swelling will last longer
