Got back from Australasian College of Cosmetic Surgery/ Cosmetic Physicians Society of Australasia’s Conference today.
Quite excited for a few reasons!!
1. Saw some new and interesting procedures that I’d like to add to my practice, including hair regrowth for men with PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma). I’ve used a little bit of PRP since it became available in Australia, but not for this indication. The Doctor who presented this treatment had the most amazing before and afters, I’m dying to give it a try. I already have 2 patients (who I texted in excitement from the conference!!!) lined up. Will keep you posted on the results as they emerge.
2. Had a consultation with a colleague, Dr Ronald Feiner, who is going to perform my under chin liposuction in 2 weeks (will post photos-I look OK from the front, the side view seriously lets me down ) He told me all about the risks. It is a reasonably safe procedure in the right hands. Ron is an expert at this particular procedure and his results are amazing! One of my patients, who I’m currently working on, lasering freckles from her entire body, had the procedure with Ron and was more pleased with the results from the chin lipo than the results from the facelift that she had before it!
It’s also a procedure I want to learn to perform and incorporate with fat transfer. I believe it is a really under-treated area that makes such a difference.
3. Saw a German Doctor present the “airgent”( www.airgent.com ) This is the first time I’ve heard of this procedure. Her results looked really interesting and I’d love to get hold of one of these machines. I’m not sure if they’re available in Australia yet. It is extremely different to any other procedure we have available at this time. It is intradermal kinetic delivery of hyaluronic acid! Fascinating!
4. Organised with sales reps to trial 2 machines for fat loss in my practice. I don’t have one of these in my sydney clinic because I haven’t come across any that work really well yet. Fingers crossed!
My friend, nurse Signa from Renew-you Cosmetic Clinic had a couple of treatments at one of the fat -dissolving machine stands, where she saw some results. So she booked another treatment in and then completely without guilt, helped herself to a second slice of cheesecake at morning tea.
